Fighting arcade game, made with Gamemaker II, Febr 2018 - one week

Platform:
PC
Game type:
Fighter game
Made with:
GameMaker 2
Each player incarnates a samurai who fight for honor.
Each samurai has 4 different attack poses, and when the players have the same attack poses, they don't inflict damage.
Each attack pose has a different speed and attack range.
We were two on this project. We create the concept together, and I was in charge of all the programming, going from the gameplay programming to the graphical integration.
This project was one of my first projects as a programmer and the first using GameMaker II. We had only one week to learn how to use it and create a game prototype using specific assets. Since I was the most comfortable on gamemaker, my challenge was to quickly learn how to use it and imagine a concept that could fit our competencies on gamemaker without having trouble finding technical solutions to integrate our mechanics. We made a simple 1v1 fighter game, using the "rock, paper, scissors" concept to avoid excessive production time.
